CSLP and iREAD
In 2008, Impressions Theatre began developing programs to go along with the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) theme. We started with the theme "Catch the Reading Bug" with Anansi the Spider, then Pirates of the Chesapeake for "Make A Splash" in 2009, and Night at the Library in 2011 for "One World, Many Stories". For more information on CSLP, go here. With the iREAD program becoming more popular in our home territory, we tried to incorporate elements of both themes into Robin Hood and his Merry Band. Last year, both programs had a sports theme, so we developed an interactive game show called "Get In The Game!" This year, the themes coincide again, revolving around design. Whatever program you participate in, we've got a show for you.
Our shows are interactive and involve the audience. They are suitable for all ages, but we have found that children ages 5-12 get the most out of them. They are entertaining and educational and we attempt to engage children in a way that challenges them to read more over the summer.
We have performed at the following libraries. Please feel free to contact them for a reference.
